Description:
Sikh Human Rights Group, Canada is looking for a full time person
to start working as a human rights documentation officer in its new
office in Canada. The job will be supervised by legal and human rights
experts and will offer a good opportunity for a person to learn further
about human rights documentation. Most of the work will relate to
human rights issues in the Punjab.
Requirements:
The ideal applicant will be able to read and write Punjabi as
well as English. A working knowledge of Indian law will be needed
as well as ground knowledge of issues, institutions, human rights
organisations and contacts in the Punjab. Some knowledge of the United
Nations system and documentation of human rights cases will be helpful.
The person will also be required to work on one
of the thematic projects of the Sikh Human Rights Group.
Salary and Benefits:
Depending on the expertise of the applicant, salary and facilities
will be negotiable.
